Following a mass shooting incident at a shopping mall in Wisconsin, the mayor issued a statement claiming his gun free zone would have worked, if the shooter had just obeyed the signs.
Last week, eight people were shot in a shopping mall in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. According to the Los Vegas Sun, none of the injuries were life-threatening. The police chief stated that authorities believe the incident was a disagreement between two groups of people.
The mayor of Milwaukee released a statement addressing the incident, stating that the area and the mall remained safe, and claimed that if the anti-gun rules had been followed, no one would have been hurt. He reaffirmed the importance of following a strict no-gun policy, saying that if the shooter had obeyed the rules of the shopping mall, there would have been no incident.
“Guns have no place in shopping malls or other places in which crowds of people gather. Mayfair has a strict no-gun policy. If the shooter had complied with that policy, no one would have been hurt yesterday.” - Mayor Dennis McBride, Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.
