White House Claims Biden "Created Historic Economic Boom"

On Monday, the White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre baffled commentators and the public when she declared that Biden and the Democrats have created a historic economic boom. “Only Democrats voted for [the American Rescue Plan] — Republicans did not — and it led to this economic boom — this historic economic boom that we’re seeing with jobs,” she told reporters. Currently, inflation is near an all-time high since 1981, and gas prices have just topped $5.00 per gallon, an all-time record in American history.

Biden’s approval ratings are hovering at or below 40%, even dropping for three weeks straight, even as the White House is claiming that Biden and the Democrats have created a “historic economic boom”. 

On Monday, a reporter confronted White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre about the economy saying that “All the gains from President Biden’s time in office have been wiped out.”

Jean-Pierre first deflected to international economic troubles, saying, “We know families are concerned about inflation and the stock market.  That is something that the President is — is really aware of. And so, look, we face global challenges. We’ve talked about this. This is — we’re not the only country dealing with what we’re seeing at the moment as it relates to inflation.”

Then she made a bizarre claim that Biden's American Rescue Plan created a “historic economic boom.” This is despite the fact that Americans in every part of the country are facing massive spikes in gas prices, with some places even seeing prices as high as $10 per gallon.

And Americans are seeing price hikes elsewhere, too. Inflation hit an 8.6% high in May which topped March’s rate of 8.5%.
