While Ohio Burns, Biden Visits Ukraine

In Brief:

Joe Biden has yet to show face to the disaster raging on his own soil in Ohio, but he made an appearance in Kyiv and pledged another $460 MILLION worth of aid to a foreign country.

The Background:

As the one-year anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine approaches, Biden surprised the world by showing up unannounced to Kyiv. However, he has yet to show face to support his own citizens in their time of disaster and need in Ohio.

The White House had repeatedly falsely claimed Biden would only be visiting Poland to mark the anniversary.

Biden claimed, “I thought it was critical that there not be any doubt, none whatsoever, about US support for Ukraine in the war.”

As if our 32 shipments of arms, money, and other supplies we’ve sent since August 2021 hadn’t stated that enough.

After meeting with Zelensky, Biden announced yet another round of aid — on top of more than $50 billion already provided — in the form of shells for howitzers, anti-tank missiles, air surveillance radars, night-vision devices and other items but no new advanced weaponry.

The material will be drawn from US stockpiles, the Pentagon confirmed later Monday.
