Sour Lemon: That is Don Lemon

In Brief: 

Don Lemon needs to handle his forced demotion better. In fact, he’s handling it about as well as a toddler who’s had their candy exchanged for broccoli. 

The Background: 

Don Lemon recently had his solo primetime CNN spot taken from him, and was reduced to daytime, and, the horror, working with others! 

As The New York Post so eloquently put it: “So he has been mean-girling his female co-hosts, boorishly interrupting, mansplaining, hogging the limelight, denigrating them, demoralizing them, correcting them, talking over them, and even, reportedly, berating them off air in front of the crew.”

His most recent scandal was him declaring a woman is no longer “in her prime” if she’s no longer under 50. 

While discussing Nikki Haley’s possible Presidential run, he stated: “I’m just saying what the facts are. Google it. Everybody at home, when is a woman in her prime? 20s, 30s, and 40s. I’m just saying Nikki Haley should be careful … because she wouldn’t be in her prime, according to, you know …”

It should be noted, Don Lemon will be 57 in less than 2 weeks, and our current President is 80 years old. 

Lemon did eventually almost apologize. 

“The reference I made to a woman’s ‘prime’ this morning was inartful and irrelevant, as colleagues and loved ones have pointed out, and I regret it.”
