Sarah Huckabee Sanders is strongly indicating that she will run for office soon.
Sarah Huckabee Sanders endured a lot as President Trump’s press secretary. Since leaving, Sanders has returned to Arkansas, where, The New York Times reports, she is “a bona fide star eager to play a new role in a post-Trump Republican Party crafted in her former boss’s image.”
The Times implies Sanders is planning to run for Arkansas Governor in 2023. Sanders said regarding the matter, “It’s the role I’ve been pushed into. I wouldn’t want to do that if I wasn’t the right person to fit what the state needed at that time.”
Why It Matters:
Sanders’ popularity and potential to become a political influencer, especially as a woman, could turn the tide of an anti-Trump nation.
“There are two types of people who run for office. People that are called and people that just want to be a senator or governor. I feel like I’ve been called.”
