On Monday, Press Secretary Jen Psaki claimed that illegal immigrants do not need to prove their vaccination status since “they’re not intending to stay here for a lengthy period of time.” This comes in contrast to the policy for foreign nationals entering the United States legally. The administration is also currently facing backlash for allowing record numbers of Haitian migrants to flood into the country.
The Biden administration has taken an aggressive approach, often destroying personal freedoms, against COVID-19.
This applies to everyday US citizens, small businesses, and foreign nationals who are forced to prove vaccination when trying to enter the US legally.
But the Biden administration is taking a hands-off approach when it comes to COVID-19 and illegal immigrants at the southern border.
Press Secretary Jen Psaki was pressed on why illegal immigrants don’t have to show proof of vaccination. She answered that illegal immigrants don't intend on staying in America long term.
Psaki also deflected heat for Vice President Kamala Harris’ increasing failure at the border saying, “she has been addressing the root causes of migration by working with countries in the region to ensure they have the assistance they need to reduce the number of people who are coming and trying to make those journeys across the border.”
“As individuals, come across the border, and they are both assessed for whether they have any symptoms, if they have symptoms they are, the intention is for them to be quarantined, that is our process. They’re not intending to stay here for a lengthy period of time.” - Press Secretary Jen Psaki
