In 2014, Obama traded 5 terrorists being held in Guantanamo Bay for a US Army deserter. 4 of those 5 terrorists now hold high positions in the new Taliban government of Afghanistan, including Acting Director of Intelligence, Acting Minister of Borders and Tribal Affair, Deputy Defense Minister, and Acting Minister of Information and Culture. The US Army deserter, Bowe Bergdahl, pled guilty to desertion and misbehavior when he returned from Afghanistan.
As it turns out, Biden isn’t completely to blame for the disaster in Afghanistan.
Former President, Barack Obama, freed some of the men who are now serving in important capacities in the Taliban-controlled Afghan government. In 2014 Obama traded 5 terrorists from Gitmo for 1 US army deserter. 4 of those terrorists are now direct threats to America’s interests in Afghanistan and the whole region.
Khairullah Khairkhah, the Taliban’s Acting Minister of Information and Culture, helped to found the group back in 1994. He was arrested in 2002 and remained at Gitmo until 2014 when Obama released him.
The other Obama releases, Abdul Haq Wasiq, Norullah Noori, and Mohammad Fazl, all have positions of influence in the current government and are actively seeking to hurt the United States.
“Americans are still trapped behind Taliban lines, the Biden Administration is still refusing to disclose how many of our people they left behind, and the State Department keeps talking about how they really hope the Taliban ‘will live up to their commitments.’ Pathetic.” - Sen. Ben Sasse
“I started jihad to remove foreign forces from my country and establish an Islamic government, and jihad will continue until we reach that goal through a political agreement.” - Khairullah Khairkhah, Acting Director of Information and Culture
