Oakland, California’s liberal mayor is getting a taste of her own medicine and doesn’t like it; Black Lives Matter protestors vandalized her home, and suddenly, she’s labeling them “terrorists.”
The vandalism reportedly occurred early Tuesday morning and involved thirty to forty protesters dressed all in black, according to the Sacramento Bee. Witnesses saw the rioters setting off projectiles and firecrackers as they spray-painted messages on Schaaf’s stone wall, sidewalk and garage, including “Defund OPD,” “homes 4 all,” and “blood on your hands.”
[Mayor Libby Schaaf] responded to the attack in a brief statement released through her spokesman, Justin Berton.
“This attack designed to intimidate the Mayor and strike fear into her family, will not stop her from advocating for the policies she believes are in the best long-term interests of her beloved hometown,” he said. “Like all Oaklanders, she supports passionate protest but does not support tactics meant to harm and terrorize others.”
“Key to BLM’s strategy is suppressing free speech and dissent, by means of force and intimidation if necessary. And so it has come to pass that if you stand on the sidewalk to oppose a protest, you will get a concrete shake bounced off your head, (the assailant will not be charged) and a tweet of repute will result in a pink slip. The Orwellian media — a force multiplier for BLM’s messaging — seems not to notice the suppression of free-speech rights. Heck, they don’t see riots and fires before their cameras.”
