According to a Rasmussen Reports poll, more than half of likely U.S. voters believe Biden should resign over the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal. The poll forecasts trouble for Biden in the 2024 presidential race and shows that he is losing support among independents. The poll also showed that only 38% of voters believe Kamala Harris is qualified to be President.
Biden’s execution of the Afghanistan withdrawal is affecting the lives of hundreds of Americans and Afghan allies in the country.
But it is also affecting Biden’s poll numbers at home, and not in a good way.
According to a poll by Rasmussen Reports, Biden’s credibility and popularity are plummeting due to the Afghanistan crisis.
52% of likely voters believe that Biden should resign from office. That includes 85% of Republicans, 58% of Independents, and even 32% of Democrats. Another 9% are unsure he should resign and only 39% think he shouldn’t resign.
Multiple members of Congress have publicly indicated support for impeachment, resignation, or removal from office, including Rep. Majorie Taylor Greene, Sen. Lindsey Graham, Sen. Marsha Blackburn, and Sen. Josh Hawley.
“I think Joe Biden deserves to be impeached because he’s abandoned thousands of Afghans who fought with us and he’s going to abandon some American citizens because he capitulated to the Taliban to a 31 August deadline.” - Sen. Lindsey Graham
“Impeach Biden. Impeach Kamala Harris. And throw in the secretary of state.” - Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.)
