Elon Musk and Twitter are back at war, with Elon Musk mocking Twitter using their own platform. The tweet in question has a series of four photos of the Tesla founder, and current CEO of Twitter, laughing. His captionsread: "They said I couldn’t buy Twitter. Then they wouldn’t disclose bot info. Now they want to force me to buy Twitter in court. Now they have to disclose bot info in court."
Elon Musk used a meme to troll Twitter over the weekend in response to their accusations of breach of contract after he decided to withdraw from his $44 billion purchase of the company.
The breakdown happened when Musk requested that Twitter show proof to support their claims that less than 5% of daily active users are bots. Twitter refused this request, leading many (including Musk) to believe that the percentage is indeed much higher. Now Twitter will have to prove that number is factual in court.
Meanwhile, Musk is accusing Twitter of breach as well, via his lawyers: “Twitter is in material breach of multiple provisions of that Agreement, appears to have made false and misleading representations upon which Mr. Musk relied when entering into the Merger Agreement, and is likely to suffer a Company Material Adverse Effect.”
"We are committed to closing the transaction on the price and terms agreed upon with Mr. Musk and plan to pursue legal action to enforce the merger agreement. We are confident we will prevail in the Delaware Court of Chancery."- Statement from the legal department of Twitter.
