House Speaker Kevin McCarthy Makes Good on Promises

In Brief: 

During the recent much publicized and drawn-out vote for U.S. Speaker of the House, Kevin McCarthy was backed into a corner of accountability. Now, he is making good on the promises he made. 

The Background: 

During the last Congress, freedom lovers from both sides of the political aisle were shocked and dismayed when the Democrats systematically removed opposition from their various committees, thereby erasing the balance of power and voice in the U.S House of Representatives.

Echoing back to statements made in January 2022, now-Speaker McCarthy said:

 “The Democrats have created a new thing where they’re picking and choosing who could be on committee. Never in the history [of Congress] have you had the majority tell the minority who could be on committee, but this new standard, which these Democrats have voted for — if Eric Swalwell cannot get a security clearance in the private sector, there’s no reason why he should be given one to be on Intel or Homeland Security.”

Who will be receiving the boot? Eric Swalwell and Adam Schiff will be removed from the House Intelligence Committee, due to repeated lies, as well as possible involvement with a Chinese spy for Swalwell. Ilhan Omar will be removed from the House Foreign Affairs Committee due to her many anti-Semitic remarks.
