Gov. Newsom Claims Media Biased Against Left

In Brief:

Once again, the left is dishing out a blatant lie, claiming the media is run by conservatives, thereby giving the upper hand to republicans when it comes to the news. To claim the media bias leans right is to border on the ludicrous.

The Background:

California Gov. Gavin Newsom is apparently upset that the true colors of California, and other Democratic lead states and cities, are showing.  He claims it is due to the “ruthlessness” of the right-controlled media as well as their ability to “dominate with  illusion.”

The same left-leaning media took a bill aimed to protect children from age inappropriate sex education and renamed it the “Don’t Say Gay” bill.

And yes, it’s the same media who claimed Florida Gov. DeSantis’ plan “backfired” after he sent migrants to democratic run cities. NPR claimed that “after migrants arrived in Martha’s Vineyard, a community gathered to welcome them.” But this occurred for exactly one afternoon, if you can even call it a “welcome.”  The migrants were then promptly shipped off by ferry to a military base. A “perfect example of privileged hypocrisy, but reporters quickly spun it as a victory,” as the NY Post stated.

Maybe Newsom is hoping to hide the horrific job he is doing as Governor of California?  As the NY Post wrote, “‘Dominate with illusion’? What world are you living in, Gavin? Oh, that’s right, California: home of $5.80-a-gallon gas (versus the national average of $3.73); a state with a homicide rate that has risen 9.1% this year even as arrests have fallen 7%; a place where they are delaying the release of student test scores until after the November elections because they are expected to be horrific.”

Notable Quotes:

“These guys are ruthless on the other side. Ruthless on the other side. That prime-time lineup by Fox, they are ruthless. They dominate the most important thing in American politics today, and that’s the narrative. Facts become secondary to narrative. They dominate with illusion. We are getting crushed.”-- Gov Newsom (D-CA)
