Casey DeSantis, the First Lady of Florida, was diagnosed with breast cancer according to a statement by her husband Governor Ron DeSantis. Casey is the mother of the DanSantis’ three young children. Casey’s initiatives as First Lady have helped fight against mental illness and drug abuse in Floridians. Many conservative leaders voiced their concern and support for the DeSantis family online after the announcement.
Governor Ron DeSantis has been one of the leaders in the fight to keep liberty alive and well during the COVID-19 pandemic. He has been one of the few governors around the country taking the time to read the science on the disease and the effect of masks, lockdowns, and vaccinations.
He is standing up against the federal government and keeping Floridians from experiencing the draconian vaccine mandates and lockdown orders other states are imposing on their own citizens.
Now, DeSantis has another fight to attend to. His wife and mother of their 3 children, Casey, has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
The governor released a statement about his wife’s diagnosis, saying, “As she faces the most difficult test of her life, she will have not only have my unwavering support but the support of our entire family, as well as the prayers and well wishes from Floridians across our state. Casey is a true fighter, and she will never, never, never give up.”
Conservative leaders took to Twitter to give their support and encouragement to Florida’s First Lady.
Kelley Paul, wife of Senator Rand Paul, said, “Rand and I are keeping Florida’s First Lady Casey DeSantis and family in our prayers. May God cover this amazing woman and her beautiful family with His love, strength, and healing.”
Ben Shapiro praised Casey’s character: “She's a wonderful person. Refuah shelaima! [Get well soon].”
Florida Representative Brian Mast tweeted, “Brianna and I are keeping the First Lady and the entire DeSantis family in our prayers. I know that Casey is a fighter and with the support of her family and friends, she will come out of this test stronger than ever.
