In Brief:

Three congressional Republicans sent a letter to the Department of Justice demanding information about the FBI’s raid of James O’Keefe’s, the CEO of Project Veritas, apartment. During the raid, FBI agents seized multiple devices containing confidential Project Veritas sources and donor information. The raid was in connection to Ashley Bidens’ diary which Project Veritas turned into authorities nearly a year ago.

The Background:

In 2020, Project Veritas was approached by someone who claimed to have a copy of Ashley Biden’s, daughter of Joe Biden, diary. After negotiations, Project Veritas bought the rights to publish the contents of the diary.

But after they received the diary, they were unable to authenticate that it was Ashley Biden’s. Because of that, Project Veritas decided not to run the story. They then turned the diary into law enforcement.

Over a year later, on November 6th, Biden’s FBI raided Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe’s apartment in connection with the diary.

They seized two of O’Keefe’s phones which contain confidential source and donor information.

Reps. Jim Jordan of Ohio and James Comer of Kentucky and Sen. Ron Johnson demanded information from the Department of Justice about the raid, which seriously violated O’Keefe’s 1st Amendment freedom of the press.

The congressmen accused Attorney General Merrick Garland of using the DOJ for partisan political purposes.
