FBI Raids Trump's Mar-A-Lago Estate

In Brief: 

Former President Trump’s personal estate was raided by the FBI early Monday morning, allegedly in search of unreturned classified material.  Conservatives were quick to point out that such a shocking action toward a former President would only strengthen his support if he decides to run again in 2024, given his claims about the corruption of the federal government and conspiracies against him. 

The Background: 

The Left have tried hanging onto a long simmering dispute between the former president and the federal government over Trump’s alleged illegal retention and mishandling of classified information during his departure from the White House. However, not many people are buying that story, nor are they happy with the Justice Department using the FBI as their personal lap dogs in a political vendetta. 

Former federal prosecutor and NY Post writer Andrew C. McCarthy stated:

 “I believe it would [be] foolhardy for the Biden Justice Department to indict a former president on such debatable non-violent crime charges. That is especially so when it comes to a former president who could be the 2024 Republican nominee, since such charges would fuel the perception that Democrats are using the Justice Department as a political weapon.” further stating “​​The Biden Justice Department is under enormous pressure from the Democratic base to indict Trump, and it is straining to deliver. But what it is trying to deliver is a Capitol riot case, not a case of mishandling classified documents.”

 “After working and cooperating with the relevant Government agencies, this unannounced raid on my home was not necessary or appropriate. It is prosecutorial misconduct, the weaponization of the Justice System, and an attack by Radical Left Democrats who desperately don’t want me to run for President in 2024, especially based on recent polls, and who will likewise do anything to stop Republicans and Conservatives in the upcoming Midterm Elections. Such an assault could only take place in broken, Third-World Countries. Sadly, America has now become one of those Countries, corrupt at a level not seen before. They even broke into my safe! What is the difference between this and Watergate, where operatives broke into the Democratic National Committee? Here, in reverse, Democrats broke into the home of the 45th President of the United States.”
