Disney actress Gina Carano was fired for sharing her conservative political views on social media and warning people of the consequences of division between Americans, comparing it to how Nazi Germany was able to turn neighbors against each other. Today, it was uncovered that her co-star, Pedro Pascal, had compared Trump’s immigration policies to the Holocaust, yet received no consequences.
Mandalorian actress Gina Carano was fired on Wednesday for an Instagram post addressing the current political climate and comparing it to the beginnings of Nazi Germany. In her post, she said that the reason the Nazis were able to take over and commit such horrific acts was because they first made the Jews’ neighbors hate them just for being Jews. She wrote, “How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?” Carano faced immediate backlash, and by the time she had removed her post, she was fired from Disney.
After Carano was fired, fans dug up social media posts from her liberal co-star, Pedro Pascal, who had also shared content comparing America to Nazi Germany. Pascal shared a post in 2018 comparing Trump’s immigration policies to Hitler’s concentration camps. According to the New York Post, Pascal also shared a now-deleted tweet stating “Losers in 1865, Losers in 1945, Losers in 2020” under pictures of a Confederate battle flag, a Nazi flag, and a MAGA hat.
Pascal did not lose his job over comparing conservatives to Nazis, yet Carano lost her job while warning against disunity between the parties. Many conservatives are now calling to boycott Disney over the double standard.
"Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors... even by children... Because history is edited, most people today don't realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?" - Gina Carano
“So does Disney discriminate against women for doing what their male actors do or is is only discrimination against conservatives?” - Donald Trump, Jr.
