Here is a review of some of the more notable wins/losses that have been decided:
Florida with its long history of Republican pockets amongst a sea of Liberals has shifted almost entirely Republican, with incumbent Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis winning by a landslide for another term and Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) winning reelection with a strong margin as well.
Democratic Stacey Abrams ran against incumbent Republican Brian Kemp in a much anticipated rematch, spending more than $105 million to once again meet defeat.
Democratic Beto O’Rourke has now unsuccessfully run 3 times. Despite spending close to $100 million in his latest run. Incumbent Republican Greg Abbot still holds steady as Texas Governor.
Arizona is waiting to be called as they are still counting votes. Democrat Gubernatorial candidate Katie Hobbs holds a razor-thin lead of less than 1%, and over 30% of the vote has yet to be reported. The majority of the unreported ballots were cast on election day by Republican voters.
The US House of Representatives is predicted to turn over from Democratic to Republican majority. Farewell Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House.
The final races which will determine whether Democrats lose their one-vote majority in the US Senate are not yet decided. Arizona, Alaska and Nevada are not yet fully reported. The Georgia Senate race between Democrat Rapheal Warnock and Republican Herschel Walker will go to a run-off election on December 6th and will likely to determine the majority.
This is a developing story.
