In Brief:
During an interview with Fox News, Republican Representative Jake Ellzey of Texas shared his concerns that someone other than Biden is running the show in the White House. Ellzey pointed to Biden’s “cue card” that photographers got a picture of on Monday. The cue card showed preplanned answers to questions from the media that seem to be simple enough for the average person to memorize.

The Background:
On Monday, a photo was released that showed Biden holding a card filled with questions and prepared answers to questions from the media. One question referenced Biden’s recent slip-up in Poland where he said that Putin “cannot remain in power.” His preplanned answer was that he was expressing moral outrage over the events in Ukraine.

But that cue card, along with a number of other strange press conference moments, have more Republicans questioning who is really in charge at the White House.

Rep. Jake Ellzey of Texas made his questions clear during a news interview: "The question I have is, were those questions that he had on the note card planted by somebody else and then referred to by the media? That would show collusion with the media."

Ellzey also said that he would like to know who is advising the President and hear what they are telling him: "I think that there are some people calling the shots that we don't know who they are, and they need to be briefing us on what they're advising the president on what he should be doing."

Biden has previously made comments at press conferences that he was “supposed to stop and walk out of the room” instead of taking questions.

Biden’s off-script comments about potentially seeing Putin removed from office were called “unhelpful” to the peace talks by French President Emmanuel Macron.

Notable Quotes:

"I think he has a team that he relies on more than I would if I were the president." - Representative Jake Ellzey (R-TX)
