The Biden Administration provided the Taliban with the names of U.S. citizens and Afghan allies to gain permission to enter into the Taliban-controlled area of the airport in Kabul. According to a report by Politico, multiple anonymous defense officials have stated that the Administration has effectively put all the Afghan allies on a kill list.
The Biden Administration is continuing to handle the debacle in Kabul, Afghanistan with poor judgement. According to a report from Politico, the US government has now provided a list of names to the Taliban in order to pass through a section of the airport, including US citizens, green card holders, and Afghan allies, effectively placing many Afghans on a kill list.
When asked during a press conference about the alleged lists, Biden replied, "There have been occasions when our military has contacted their military counterparts in the Taliban and said this, for example, this bus is coming through with X number of people on it, made up of the following group of people. We want you to let that bus or that group through. So, yes there have been occasions like that. I can't tell you with any certitude that there's actually been a list of names. There may have been.”
According to one anonymous official who spoke to Politico, “They had to do that because of the security situation the White House created by allowing the Taliban to control everything outside the airport.”
The Biden Administration continues to insist that Americans are being allowed to evacuate. However, NPR’s Sasha Ingber stated that Americans were “beaten through the night” by the Taliban as they went through the gates at the airport to evacuate Kabul. “Americans have been injured and stopped from boarding planes,” Ingber stated.
The news of the list of names came shortly after word reached the US of the deaths of multiple service members (the largest loss of life for US troops on Afghan soil in over a decade). Most of the service members were too young to remember 9/11.
