In Brief:

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC), liberal/socialist darling, is urging people not to go back to work when the coronavirus mandates are lifted.

The Background:

AOC appeared on Vice TV and discussed President Trump’s apparent support of Americans who are protesting their state’s lockdowns. Townhall.com reports that AOC said on the show:

“When we talk about this idea of reopening society you know, only in America —does the president — when the president tweets about liberation — does he mean go back to work. When we have this discussion about going back or reopening, I think a lot people should just say no — we’re not going back to that.”

It seems that there is just something about people having jobs that sets her off. In a recent appearance on an online television show, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) urged Americans to refuse to return to work as the United States prepares for the restarting of the economy.

AOC, Townhall points out, earns makes an annual salary of $174,000.

Notable Quotes:

“We’re not going back to working 70-hour weeks just so that we can put food on the table and not even feel any sort of semblance of security in our lives.”
