Fifteen states have outlawed the latest beer creation produced by Samuel Adams Boston Brewery.
Sam Adams’ “Utopias” beer is 28 percent alcohol. The brewery only produces 77 barrels of the stuff, and because the alcohol level is so high, it’s illegal in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, Utah, Vermont, and West Virginia.
Why It Matters:
The government is dictating what we can consume, proving the nanny state is alive and well in a country where citizens’ freedoms are supposedly protected by the Constitution.
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you.”
